Over The Wall visited the London headquarters of CIBC (The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce), as one of the charities chosen to benefit from the bank’s ‘Miracle Day’.
Over The Wall campers attended the event, and became ‘traders’ for the day, whilst funds were also raised through various challenges, raffles and auctions – all of which were generously supported by CIBC employees.
Every Miracle Day, CIBC employees donate fees and commissions from the trading day to three charities supported by the CIBC Children’s Foundation. This year, Over The Wall was selected along with the Jessie May Hospice at Home and Teens & Toddlers.
Kevin Mathieson, Chief Executive of Over The Wall, was at the event and was presented with a cheque for £29,000 by Andrew Ryde, Chair of the CIBC Children’s Foundation. This donation will now increase the number of children and families Over The Wall serves in the UK.
Kevin Mathieson said, “Thanks to the generosity of the CIBC Children’s Foundation, we’ll be able to transform the lives of 70 more children and young people at our camps this year and that impact will reverberate through an even greater number of family members and friends. On their behalf we are extremely grateful to the CIBC Children’s Foundation.”
2017 marks the 33rd anniversary of the CIBC Miracle Day, which has since raised many millions of pounds, helping to improve the quality of life of children affected by disability, illness, social deprivation or life-limiting conditions.
