Volunteers, campers, families and the OTW team were recently invited to the Kenwood, The De’Longhi Group’s UK Head Office to attend a party to celebrate our 20th anniversary.
Havant MP Alan Mak was also at the event, alongside members of the Kenwood team who provided food, fun and games. Many of the children at the party were former campers, some with severe allergies, which Kenwood specially catered for.
During the event, we celebrated the partnership between OTW and Kenwood and were delighted to receive a cheque from Kenwood of £2,600.
Having recently been named as their charity of the year, Kenwood is raising funds to support our camps.
In 2019, Kenwood volunteered at camp, by unloading and unpacking lorries of resources, medical supplies and equipment. They also ran activities with the children to create their own Kenwood products and mixer designs. Kenwood staff now plan to get involved in various other fundraising challenges throughout the year with a target to raise £10,000.
Alan Cummings, the ‘Giving Something Back’ team sponsor at Kenwood said, ““We are delighted that the employees of Kenwood chose Over The Wall to be our Charity of the Year. This event is a wonderful example of the joint benefits that our partnership brings, and we have enjoyed welcoming the families and volunteers to Kenwood to celebrate this landmark anniversary.”
Kevin Mathieson, the CEO at Over The Wall said, “Kenwood’s support has been fantastic, and we are truly honoured to be their chosen charity. This year is especially important as we celebrate our 20th anniversary. Since 1999 we have taken over 8,000 children to camp, so it’s wonderful that we can celebrate our achievements with Kenwood, whose support will allow even more children and families affected by childhood illness, to enjoy our camps.”
